Telehealth

Our team is proud to offer occupational therapy, speech therapy, and feeding therapy to clients of all ages via teletherapy. Whether you’re new to Seattle Therapy Network or continuing your care, telehealth offers flexibility, accessibility, and proven success.

Through secure video sessions, we are able to complete evaluations, provide ongoing therapy, and coach caregivers directly within their natural environments. Many families and adult clients find that telehealth not only removes barriers such as travel and scheduling, but also creates opportunities to practice skills in the very spaces where they are needed most. This makes telehealth an excellent way to get started on building a personalized home program and supporting carryover between sessions. Our therapists are experienced in adapting activities and using everyday materials to work toward the client’s individual goals. Telehealth empowers clients and caregivers to take an active role in therapy and we consistently see great progress toward goals in this setting.

What is Telehealth?

Telehealth is a well established model of providing remote occupational therapy and speech-language therapy through live video. Our HIPAA-compliant platform allows clients to connect with their therapist from a phone, tablet, or computer.

How much do Teletherapy services cost?

Telehealth sessions are billed at the same rate as in-person visits. Most major insurance plans cover telehealth, and our team can help you navigate your benefits.

Who benefits from Telehealth?

Telehealth works well for children and adults with a wide range of needs, including:

  • Communication

  • Articulation

  • Feeding

  • Self-care Routines

  • Sensory Processing

  • Motor Development

  • Handwriting and visual perceptual skills

  • Executive functioning and organization

Clients that have limited access to healthcare services, live outside of city centers, have transportation barriers, or have busy family schedules often find telehealth to be a great fit. Because therapy happens in your natural environment, it’s also an excellent way to strengthen carryover and build lasting routines at home.

How do I make a Telehealth appointment?

When you complete our New Client Intake form, let us know that you’re interested in telehealth. We’ll schedule your sessions during the intake process.

How do I log on ?

Telehealth sessions take place via Zoom. You will be provided with a unique Zoom link for your appointment upon scheduling. You can join your Zoom link through your computer browser or by downloading the Zoom app to your phone or tablet. You will receive appointment reminders from Ensora, our electronic medical record platform, as well as from Google Calendar.

What will I need?

  • A stable internet connection and a device with a webcam (laptop, tablet, or smartphone)

  • A quiet, well-lit space where you and/or your child can be easily seen

  • Your therapist may also suggest gathering common household items for activities. Don’t worry - we love using what you already have at home!

How should I prepare?

  • Log in a few minutes early to check your connection

  • Have headphones available for focused, table-top work if needed

  • For pediatric clients, pull out a few favorite toys or items to help build connection

  • Caregivers should be nearby and ready to participate—many families tell us that telehealth helps them feel more confident and empowered in supporting therapy goals

What will my first session look like?

We’ll begin by talking through your concerns and goals, then introduce activities or assessment tools. At the end, we’ll review observations, answer questions, and make a plan for next steps. For children, sessions often involve play and exploration with familiar items from home. Please don’t worry about messes, pets, or siblings. We appreciate and respect that we are guests in your home

I'm traveling out of state. Can I still have my telehealth appointment?

Telehealth regulations require therapists to be licensed in the state where the client is located. If you’ll be out of Washington State during a scheduled session, please let us know so we can help reschedule or explore options.
